In 2007, fossils of a new dinosaur species named Qunkasaura pintiquiniestra were discovered in Cuenca, Spain, during the construction of the Madrid-Levante high-speed railway. This sauropod lived 73 million years ago and is notable for being one of the most complete sauropod skeletons found in Europe. The species likely migrated from Asia to the Iberian Peninsula, which was an island at the time. The name Qunkasaura reflects local cultural references, and part of the skeleton is now displayed at the Castilla-La Mancha Palaeontology Museum. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
