Researchers have officially described a new species of monkey, Colobus congoensis, after an 18-year investigation in the Congo rainforest. Known locally as Likweli, this monkey has a distinct orange mouth and is considered extremely rare, with its habitat threatened by human activities. The discovery highlights the urgent need for conservation efforts in Lomami National Park to protect its biodiversity.
