Thirty-six countries, primarily from Europe, have established a special tribunal in The Hague to prosecute Russian President Vladimir Putin for aggression against Ukraine. This initiative, endorsed during a Council of Europe meeting, aims to fill the jurisdictional gap left by the ICC. Ukraine's foreign minister, Andrii Sybiha, emphasized the significance of this tribunal as a step towards accountability. The tribunal will also include a Register of Damages for victims of aggression. The initiative is crucial for holding Russia accountable for its actions since the invasion began in February 2022.
