A former Warsaw city council employee, Tomasz L., was charged with espionage for allegedly providing Russia with false identities for spies from 2017 to 2022. He is accused of copying civil records to create fake identity papers and passing this information to a Russian intelligence officer. Detained in March 2022, he pleaded not guilty and initially cooperated with investigators. His arrest led to the expulsion of Russian diplomats from Poland.
