Pope assassination plot foiled by UK intelligence 😔
Cikk tartalma röviden
Pope Francis reveals in his upcoming autobiography that a plot to assassinate him during his 2021 trip to Iraq was thwarted by British intelligence. The Pope recounts how he was informed of the threat from two suicide bombers upon his arrival in Baghdad. The visit, marked by heightened security due to previous sectarian violence, was the first by a pope to Iraq. Despite warnings against the trip, he felt compelled to proceed. The attackers were intercepted and killed by Iraqi police.
