Pope Leo XIV has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, urging the international community to protect civilians and respect humanitarian laws. He expressed sorrow over an Israeli attack on a Catholic church in Gaza that resulted in casualties. The ongoing conflict has led to significant loss of life, with at least 73 Palestinians killed while seeking aid. The Israeli military is involved in operations and evacuation orders, complicating humanitarian efforts. Ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas are ongoing but have not yielded results.
