British pet owners can no longer use old EU pet passports for their animals when traveling to EU countries due to new regulations effective April 22. Only those with EU residency can use these passports. Instead, an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) is now required, which must be obtained shortly before travel. The AHC is single-use and costs around £100. There are also new rules regarding pet travel limits and requirements for pets traveling separately.
