Preparations are underway for the funeral of Pope Francis, who will be buried at St. Mary Major Basilica in Rome. The funeral rites have been reformed to modernize practices while respecting traditions. Key changes include a single coffin instead of the traditional three-coffin system and confirmation of death in his personal chapel. Cardinals are finalizing arrangements for the funeral and conclave to elect a successor, with public viewing starting Wednesday.
