US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr has dismissed all members of a key scientific committee advising the CDC on vaccines, promising to replace them with his own staff. This decision has faced criticism from various groups, including major physicians, who argue it could jeopardize vaccine use in the US. Kennedy defends his actions by citing conflicts of interest among the ousted members, while critics warn it undermines public trust and could lead to increased disease outbreaks.
