Calin Georgescu, an independent right-wing candidate, won the first round with 22.95% of the votes, largely due to his TikTok presence. Elena Lasconi from the Save Romania Union finished second with 19%. TikTok has removed political ads violating its policies, but issues remain regarding transparency and the use of the platform by political figures.
