The Netherlands has seen a surge in army reservist recruitment, particularly after Queen Maxima and her daughter enlisted. This has led to a significant increase in applications, with the military struggling to accommodate new recruits. The government aims to raise military personnel from 80,000 to 120,000 by 2035, reflecting a broader European trend to modernize militaries amid security concerns due to the war in Ukraine. Other countries, like Germany and France, are also enhancing recruitment efforts.
