A Scottish tourist, Grant Paterson, died from injuries sustained in a suspected gas explosion at a B&B in Rome. The 54-year-old, who worked for CalMac, suffered severe burns and was described as a 'true gentleman' by his employer. An investigation into the incident has been initiated by the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri. A fundraiser for Paterson and his daughter has raised over £11,000.
