In Sudan's civil war, sexual violence has been weaponized, disproportionately affecting women and aimed at destroying communities. UNFPA representative Fabrizia Falcione highlights the unprecedented scale of conflict-related sexual violence since the war began in April 2023. Survivors face trauma, stigma, and limited access to essential services. Despite the challenges, women are seen as vital agents of change and peacemakers, with a strong desire to return to their communities.
