‘Shadows of indifference’: EU faces heat over inaction on pollution from Italy’s biggest steel plant 😔
Cikk tartalma röviden
Local residents and an MEP are filing a complaint to the European Ombudsman regarding the Acciaierie d’Italia steel mill in Taranto, Italy, due to ongoing environmental pollution and health issues linked to the plant. Despite an infringement procedure initiated in 2013, the EU has not taken significant action, leading to frustration among residents who continue to suffer from pollution-related health problems. The situation has been described as a 'sacrifice zone,' with calls for justice and remediation of the environmental damage caused by the steel mill.
