Dr. Masharu, an Amsterdam-based photographer and academic, explores geophagia, the practice of eating earth, through the Museum of Edible Earth. This nomadic project showcases over 600 edible soils from various countries and aims to reshape perceptions of soil and our connection to the earth. The exhibition includes participatory tasting experiences and highlights cultural, health, and environmental aspects of consuming soil. Despite potential health risks, the project emphasizes the importance of soil in various cultures and its intersectionality with issues of gender, race, and class.
