UK engineers Alisha Fredriksson and Roujia Wen have developed a compact carbon capture system for ships, addressing the shipping industry's significant CO₂ emissions. Their startup, Seabound, offers a modular solution that captures CO₂ from ship exhaust and transforms it into solid limestone pellets. This innovation has earned them recognition as top scientists for the Young Inventors Prize 2025, supporting sustainability and UN Climate Action goals.
