The European Parliament voted 378 against to 152 in favor of a resolution for smoke-free environments, despite support from four political groups. The rejection followed amendments by the European Conservatives and Reformists, leading to criticism from the Socialists and Democrats. The amendments aimed to differentiate regulations for e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products, impacting the original proposal's intent to broaden smoking bans. The European Council will also vote on the proposal next week.
