Iris Stalzer, a newly elected mayor in Herdecke, Germany, was found with stab wounds allegedly inflicted by her 17-year-old daughter. Initially life-threatening, her injuries were later deemed not critical. The incident, reported as an attempted robbery, led to the daughter's detention. Investigators found knives and clothing at the scene, but the motive remains unclear. The attack has drawn condemnation from political figures, although no political motive has been established. Stalzer is set to take office on November 1.
