Tens of thousands protested in downtown Barcelona against rising rental costs, demanding a 50% reduction in rents. Protesters blocked traffic and expressed frustration over the housing crisis, which has seen average rents double in the last decade. The protest highlighted the struggles of renters, particularly younger individuals, and called for a rent strike if conditions do not improve. The government has implemented rent caps in high-stress areas, but discontent continues to grow, with tourists being blamed for exacerbating the situation.
