The Hitler oaks – some of the few such trees left in world are national treasures of Hajdú-Bihar County

The 1936 Berlin Olympics champions received English oak trees as gifts alongside their gold medals, symbolizing strength and success. Notably, Hungary's Endre Kabos and Imre Bujdosó planted their trees in Berettyóújfalu, while other trees were planted across Hungary and the world. Many trees have survived, but others were destroyed during WWII. The legacy of these trees continues to hold symbolic value, with some becoming cherished landmarks.
