Lebanese culture minister Ghassan Salamé described the Israeli military campaign in Lebanon as an invasion, highlighting the severe humanitarian crisis with over 1 million displaced and 1,000 dead. He noted a dangerous shift in Israel's strategy, with entire villages being destroyed and a potential long-term territorial grab. The Lebanese government faces challenges in supporting civilians amid ongoing strikes and has set up over 700 shelters. Salamé mentioned attempts for diplomatic negotiations with Israel, but no response has been received.
