Thousands protested in Vienna against the far-right Freedom Party (FPÖ) and its leader Herbert Kickl, who is set to form a new government after coalition talks failed. Around 25,000 attended, with protests also in other cities. The ÖVP announced coalition talks with FPÖ, reversing its previous stance. The FPÖ, euroskeptic and Russia-friendly, won 29.2% of the vote, while the ÖVP, previously in coalition with FPÖ, faces challenges in forming a harmonious government.
