Three young sisters drowned in a rubber boat carrying migrants in the central Mediterranean due to dangerous overcrowding and rough waves. About 65 people were rescued, including the sisters' mother and brother. The incident highlights the perilous journey migrants face from Libya to Italy, with many survivors suffering from severe chemical burns. The charity RESQSHIP reported the tragedy and called for increased search and rescue operations.
