The incident occurred during a level 4 avalanche warning, with an avalanche possibly crossing the railway before the train passed. One injured person was evacuated to Sion Hospital, while others were treated on-site. Rail traffic on the Frutigen-Brig line is interrupted due to the avalanche. An investigation has been opened by the Swiss public prosecutor.
