The SPO claims TI Hungary is part of a global lobbying network that undermines Hungarian state institutions. TI Hungary refutes these claims, stating that the SPO's report was improperly released and that they maintain transparency regarding their operations. The conflict escalated during a debate between SPO head Tamás Lánczi and TI Hungary's legal director Miklós Ligeti, where Lánczi expressed a hostile stance towards TI Hungary's legitimacy.
