The Trump administration has escalated its military actions against drug cartels, conducting airstrikes on Venezuelan vessels accused of cocaine trafficking. President Trump announced the strikes, which resulted in the deaths of alleged narcoterrorists, but evidence of drug transport has not been provided. Concerns over the legality of these actions have been raised by some senators and human rights organizations. Venezuelan President Maduro criticized the US for using drug trafficking claims to justify military operations aimed at regime change.
