Ukraine frontline frozen in June as Russian momentum falters, June data shows
Cikk tartalma röviden
The Ukraine war front line remained largely frozen in June, extending a longer-term trend of stalled Russian momentum, according to an AFP analysis of data from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW). While Russia made a net gain of 30 square kilometers in the Kharkiv region, these were largely reclassified previous incursions, whereas Ukrainian forces gained 29 square kilometers in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Russia's advance has significantly slowed since late 2025, losing more ground than it captured in April and May, and now occupies just over 19% of Ukraine, including territories held before the 2022 invasion.
