Sweden is investigating a Russian Orthodox church in Västerås for potential links to espionage and Russian intelligence activities, particularly due to its proximity to Stockholm-Västerås Airport. The church, which was built despite security concerns, has drawn scrutiny from Sweden's domestic security agency, SAPO. The investigation highlights the church's strategic location and connections to Russian diplomats and intelligence operations. Local authorities are considering expropriating the church due to national security risks.
