Unilever has sold its Russian subsidiary to Arnest Group amid ongoing divestment by Western companies due to the Russia-Ukraine war. The deal, valued at approximately €600m, also includes Unilever's operations in Belarus. CEO Hein Schumacher noted the complexities involved in preparing for the sale, which marks the end of Unilever's presence in Russia. Other Western companies have similarly exited the market, facing backlash for their prolonged operations in the country.
