The ownership dispute over Camille Pissarro’s painting, stolen by Nazis from a Jewish woman, has been revived by a U.S. Supreme Court decision. The painting, currently in the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum in Madrid, is valued at tens of millions. The court's ruling allows for reconsideration under a new California law aiding Holocaust survivors in reclaiming Nazi-looted art, overturning previous decisions favoring the museum. The painting was originally owned by Julius Cassirer and was surrendered to Nazis by his daughter-in-law, Lilly Cassirer Neubauer, during WWII.
