Venezuela closed its embassy in Oslo following the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to opposition leader María Corina Machado. The Venezuelan government did not comment on the award, citing a restructuring of its foreign service. Norway's foreign ministry expressed regret over the closure, emphasizing the importance of dialogue with Venezuela. Machado's award recognizes her efforts for democratic rights, while Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro criticized her. The closure of embassies in Norway and Australia coincides with rising tensions between Venezuela and the US.
