Peter Pellegrini, a Slovak president, hosted 35 high school students who won medals at international competitions. During the event, student Simon Omaník refused to shake Pellegrini's hand, citing personal and political issues with him. Omaník criticized Pellegrini's past actions and accused him of lying and being a fraud. He also expressed that the government should focus more on supporting education rather than luxury trips.
