Julia Creek, a remote Australian town, is offering a salary of up to AU$680,000 to attract a new doctor as it prepares to lose its only physician, Dr. Adam Louws. The town, located in Queensland, is known for its quiet lifestyle and vast landscapes but is 17 hours from Brisbane and has faced a long-standing shortage of medical professionals. The mayor, Janene Fegan, emphasizes the town's good lifestyle despite its remoteness, while Louws reflects on the unique experiences and community bonds formed during his time there.
