The Great Mosque of al-Nuri's leaning minaret, a symbol of Mosul, has been rebuilt after being destroyed by ISIS in 2017. The restoration, part of a larger effort to revive the historic city, is significant for locals, including resident Saad Muhammed Jarjees. UNESCO led the reconstruction using original materials to maintain authenticity. The effort also includes restoring Christian sites in Mosul, with Archbishop Mar Benedictus Younan Hanno emphasizing the importance of reviving history. An official reopening is planned with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani's attendance. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
