In the face of climate change, communities in Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan are reviving the Indigenous practice of glacier grafting to create artificial glaciers for water supply. This traditional method involves transporting ice from male and female glaciers to designated high-altitude sites, where they are insulated to form new glaciers. The practice, rooted in local culture and mythology, not only addresses water scarcity but also preserves heritage and ecological knowledge.
