A study by the Center for Information, Democracy, and Citizenship reveals that the Kremlin's Pravda disinformation network primarily targets former Soviet states and Balkan countries, accounting for 52% of its publications. Moldova, Latvia, and Estonia are the top targets, with strategic interests in energy security influencing this pattern. The network has been active for 17 years, disseminating pro-Russia propaganda and fake news. The study highlights the geographical and political contexts that make these regions susceptible to disinformation, particularly in light of Russia's historical influence and current geopolitical tensions. To combat this, a comprehensive approach to education and monitoring is recommended. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
