Eurostat reports that 80 million high-skilled workers make up 44% of the EU workforce aged 25-64, with the highest concentrations in northern European capitals. Stockholm leads with 74%, followed by Utrecht (69%), Luxembourg (67%), and Brabant Wallon, Copenhagen, and Prague (66%). Rural and former industrial areas show the lowest percentages, particularly in southeastern Europe, with Greece, Romania, and Bulgaria having regions below a third of total employment.
