Melania Trump's staff have publicly celebrated the poor box office performance of the film Digger, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, which grossed only $20 million against a $180 million budget. Senior advisor Marc Beckman compared its performance unfavorably to Melania's own documentary, which also faced financial losses despite a better per-theater performance. Critics have pointed out the inappropriateness of this comparison, highlighting the ambitious nature of Digger despite its failures.
