A new trend is emerging with brutalist architecture gaining popularity, particularly in Skopje, North Macedonia, where local architect Aleksandra Georgieva has started a walking tour to highlight this style. Despite mixed opinions on brutalism, it represents a significant part of Skopje's identity post-earthquake. Other cities like London, Yerevan, Belgrade, and Paris also feature notable examples of brutalist architecture.
