She parked her SUV near Fifth Avenue and East 52nd Street and fell shortly after exiting the vehicle. Firefighters rescued her, but she was pronounced dead at a hospital. Con Edison reported that a truck dislodged the manhole cover shortly before the incident. An investigation is ongoing.
