Zimbabwe reported that 15 citizens were killed after being recruited to fight in the Ukraine-Russia war, with authorities warning of fraudulent schemes targeting recruits from Africa. Information Minister Zhemu Soda stated that the government is working to repatriate 66 other Zimbabweans still in the war zone. Similar cases have been reported in South Africa, Kenya, and Nigeria, where nationals were deceived by job offers and coerced into combat. Many victims received little training and faced life-threatening situations, with families left without support or information.
