A Dubai-based crypto platform, Bybit, has closed a $1.5 billion gap from a hack described as the largest crypto heist ever. The attack occurred on February 21 when an attacker gained control of Bybit's Ethereum wallet. The company quickly secured its systems and offered a reward for help in recovering the funds. Other crypto platforms froze suspicious transactions to assist Bybit. An audit confirmed the recovery of Ethereum assets in under 72 hours. Blockchain research firm Elliptic suggested North Korea's Lazarus Group might be behind the attack, which is part of a larger trend of thefts in the crypto industry.
